Vivek Ramaswamy exits 2024 Presidential Race, backs Trump for President

Following a disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses, the inaugural showdown of the 2024 Republican presidential contest, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced on Monday that he is withdrawing from the campaign.

Ramaswamy, at 38 years old, pledged his support to his former rival, ex-President Donald Trump, lauding Trump as the "best president of the 21st century" and encouraging Republican voters to opt for "fresh legs" to elevate the "America First" agenda.

Maintaining the style of Trump's charismatic, outspoken populism, Ramaswamy mirrored the former president's approach in his own candidacy, consistently lambasting his opponents. Acknowledging the reality of his lacklustre results, he stated, "Tonight, I have to face the truth. It was hard for me to accept, but we have looked at the facts. And the fact is, we did not get the result we hoped for tonight." He then announced the suspension of his presidential campaign.

Ramaswamy Joins Trump in New Hampshire:

After concluding his campaign, Ramaswamy declared his endorsement for former President Donald Trump. Expressing his commitment, he said, "I called Donald Trump earlier tonight to congratulate him on his win. And now, he will have my full backing for the presidency." Ramaswamy affirmed, "Tomorrow, I will join Donald Trump at a rally in New Hampshire to share our vision for the country’s future." Despite Trump's recent critical remarks, the Indian-American former presidential hopeful remained steadfast in his support for Trump.

Trump's Recent Attack on Ramaswamy:

In the week leading up to the Iowa caucuses, where Trump was anticipated to emerge victorious, Ramaswamy softened his criticism of the former president, attempting to appeal to the state’s voters by speaking immediately after Trump. Ramaswamy, previously a staunch supporter of Trump, had adopted a more critical stance, citing the former president's legal challenges and formidable political adversaries as signs of weakness. In response, Trump took to social media, labelling Ramaswamy's campaign as "deceitful" and "very sly," marking the onset of tensions between the two. Despite the discord, Ramaswamy continued to stand by Trump, affirming his support despite the legal challenges faced by the former president.
