USA: 20-yr-old Indian student rescued by police, beaten and kidnapped for over 7 months

Three individuals were apprehended by the Missouri Police in the United States for the alleged act of unlawfully confining and physically assaulting a 20-year-old Indian student. The victim, who arrived in the US from India the previous year to pursue studies at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital due to numerous bone fractures, as well as extensive lacerations and injuries across his entire body.

This young individual had endured months of captivity, severe beatings, and forced labour at the hands of his cousin and two other individuals of Indian origin.

According to reports from the media, the incident has been labelled as "completely inhumane and morally unacceptable." The victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was confined in three residences located in the state of Missouri in the United States.

Following a 911 call made by a concerned citizen who became aware of the victim's distressing circumstances, law enforcement promptly took action.

After investigating at residence located on a rural highway in St. Charles County, authorities apprehended Venkatesh R Sattaru, Sravan Varma Penumetcha, and Nikhil Verma Penmatsa. The three individuals have been charged with various offences, including human trafficking, kidnapping, and assault.

According to police, a young individual, whose identity has not been revealed, was unlawfully detained for over seven months by two men and one of his cousins. The victim was subjected to physical abuse, denied access to necessities such as a washroom, and was coerced into working at three different residences. The situation was brought to light by a concerned citizen who reported the incident to the news agency PTI.

The abuse started in April this year. The victim is presently undergoing medical care at a medical facility due to various bone fractures, cuts, and wounds that have affected his entire body. The patient was apprehensive about his well-being, which is why he was reluctant to report the mistreatment.
