The US Defence Secretary, Lloyd J. Austin announced that the US will send military assets in the form of warships and weapons, in support of his ally, Israel in the ongoing conflict between Israel-Palestine.
The aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford, five guided-missile cruisers, destroyers and other weapons have been ordered to the Eastern part of the Mediterranean sea, near Israel, according to a press release by the United States Central Command.
The US military Navy Ships too have been deployed near Israel.
Giving a reply to this step of the US, the militant group, Hamas released a statement saying that this decision of the US amounts to "aggression" against Palestinians.
This major move of the United States, in the background of the US 2024 elections, can add more sparks in the ongoing conflict and does little to douse the fire.
