UK issues first passport in name of King Charles III

The government has announced that English passports designed after His Majesty King Charles III will be made available this week. For the first time in more than 70 years, the phrase "His Majesty" will be used on such documents. UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman introduced the revised strategy on Tuesday night, changing the visa greeting from Her Majesty following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September of last year. As is customary, the 74-year-old King does not travel with his passport, which was issued in his name. Since Her Majesty has been shown on British passports for the past 70 years, many of us struggle to remember a time when she wasn't. Since 1952, the title of His Majesty the King has not appeared on British passports; thus, this is a significant turning point in British history, according to Ms. Braverman.
