If you're planning a trip to the UK for tourism, visiting, or studying, it's gonna cost you a bit more. The UK visit visa for less than half a year will cost you an extra Rs. 1,543 (about GBP 15), while the UK student visa will cost you Rs. 13,070 (about GBP 127) if you're travelling all over the world, including Indians, according to the UK government's announcement.
The UK Home Office has also announced a 15% increase in the cost of most work and visit visas, as well as a minimum 20% increase in fees for priority visas, study visas, and certificates of sponsorship.
This decision follows British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's announcement in July that the government would significantly increase fees and health surcharges paid by visa applicants to support the UK's state-funded National Health Service (NHS) and also to meet public sector wage increases.
The hike also affects different types of visas, like health and care, British citizenship, six-month, two-year, five-year, and ten-year visit visas, as well as a lot of entry clearance fees and leave to stay fees for work, studies, and indefinite leave and certificates of sponsorship.
