After an independent inquiry revealed that Dominic Raab had intimidated public officials, he resigned as the deputy prime minister of the UK on Friday.Raab made the announcement the day after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak discovered the results of eight official allegations that he had been rude to staff employees while working as Britain's foreign secretary, Brexit secretary, and justice secretary.
Raab, refuted allegations that he treated his colleagues unfairly and with contempt, asserting that he "behaved professionally at all times," but he had previously threatened to leave if the bullying charges were confirmed.According to Raab's resignation letter, the probe found two instances of bullying against him and rejected the other claims. But he said that the findings were "flawed" and that the probe "set a dangerous trend" by "reducing the acceptable level for bullying so low." He asserted that because he had made a pledge to retire, he was "duty bound" to do so.Sunak won't have to decide what would happen to his senior deputy because of the resignation. Sunak was carefully reviewing the results after receiving the probe report on Thursday morning, according to spokesman Max Blain.
