Trump Wants to 'Own' Gaza - Palestine's New Nightmare Begins

Real Estate Bro Wants to Takeover Land his Country helped Destroy

During a joint press conference at the White House, former US President Donald Trump and Declared ICC Criminal Israeli PM Benjamin 'BiBi' Netanyahu made several striking statements regarding the future of the Gaza Strip. Trump announced an unprecedented plan for the US to assume control over Gaza, relocate its Palestinian population to neighbouring countries, and redevelop the region for international settlement. His proposal raised immediate concerns about its legality, feasibility, and potential geopolitical consequences.

In a surprising declaration, Trump stated that the US would “own” Gaza and oversee its reconstruction. He envisioned long-term American control, managing the removal of unexploded ordnance and rebuilding infrastructure. He claimed that the US would “level” the destroyed buildings and create economic opportunities that would provide “unlimited jobs and housing for the region’s people.” However, he did not clarify under what legal authority the United States could assume control of Gaza or how this plan would be implemented.

In an ironic turn of events, Trump went on to describe Gaza as a “symbol of death and destruction”; given that most of Gaza was destroyed with weapons, bought and supported by the war-chest America provided Israel. He also insisted that its residents only wished to return because they had no alternative, which is nothing suprising since he is someone who seems to have the empathy and emotional depth of a genital wart. He went further along, trying to barely hide his displacement plans for Palestinians by suggesting that the 1.8 million Palestinians living there should relocate to wealthier Arab nations with “humanitarian hearts.” Previously, he had called for Jordan, Egypt, and other Arab states to accept Palestinian refugees, proposing that they be dispersed across multiple locations. However, forced displacement of a population would likely violate international law and face strong opposition, not only from Washington’s allies but also from human rights organisations. Some critics have even likened the idea to ethnic cleansing.

In a remark reminiscent of previous statements by his son-in-law, Jared Kushner (Termed as an 'Overconfident Moron' by Variety Magazine), Trump suggested that Gaza could be transformed into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” implying that it had significant potential as a luxury destination where “the world’s people” could settle. However, he did not elaborate on how such a transformation would be achieved or address the current humanitarian crisis in the region.

When asked about his stance on the two-state solution, Trump provided an ambiguous response. He dismissed the idea that his proposal was an indication of opposition to the decades-old US foreign policy supporting a two-state solution. “It doesn’t mean anything about a two-state or one-state or any other state. It means we want to give people a chance at life,” he said. He described Gaza as a “hellhole” where residents had never had such an opportunity, though he did not specify how his plan would improve their situation.

Trump also claimed that multiple world leaders supported his proposal, though he did not provide any names. “This is not a decision made lightly,” he asserted, adding, “Everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land.” He argued that American control of Gaza would bring stability to the Middle East. However, this claim is likely to be met with scepticism, given the deep-rooted complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When asked whether he would deploy US troops to secure Gaza, Trump did not rule out the possibility. “As far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary. If it’s necessary, we’ll do that,” he said. Netanyahu, for his part, responded by saying that Trump’s vision presented a different future for Gaza and could “change history.” In addition to his remarks on Gaza, Trump suggested that he would soon announce his position on Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank. “We haven’t taken a position on it yet,” he stated, adding that he planned to visit Gaza, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.

Alleged War Criminal Netanyahu, someone that the International Criminal Court identfies as - "responsible for the war crimes of starvation as a method of warfare and of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024", in turn, praised Trump as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House.” He endorsed Trump’s unconventional approach, stating that Israel would “end the war by winning the war” and that fresh thinking was necessary to break from traditional diplomatic efforts. Which in a decent world should be enough to bring shame to the hosting nation, but we live in a reality where that seems like too farfetched an idea.

The proposal was however met with immediate backlash from the international community. Saudi Arabia swiftly rejected any attempt to forcibly relocate Palestinians and reiterated that it would not normalise relations with Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state. Hamas condemned Trump’s calls for the displacement of Gaza’s population, denouncing them as an attempt to expel Palestinians from their homeland. Meanwhile, the Palestinian envoy to the United Nations urged world leaders to respect the right of Palestinians to remain in Gaza.

Trump’s proposal represents a radical departure from established international norms and policies regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is genocide denial, and blatant war-profiteering, colonization and shamless human rights violation. But the saddest part is, we can't be sure whether this ridiculous idea will be opposed by the internationl community, or will we once more sit back and see a whole nation devoured by corrupt, violent and oppressive western powers and their puppet states.
