After signing a peace agreement in 1979, a rare fire exchange happened on the Nitzana border crossing between Israel and Egypt. There was a joint operation going on to chase the drug smugglers who were trying to cross the border, as it's a serious issue at the border. But during that process, an Egyptian soldier crossed the border and killed 2 military people of Israel.
When the Israeli military head was not able to contact their 2 soldiers through radio, they came to find that their two soldiers had been shot dead. In the same period, a second fire exchange happened and a cop from Egypt and another from Israel lost their lives. One of the deceased people of Israel was a woman. As this was the loss of both countries. Egypt's Defense Minister spoke to an Israeli military officer to avoid such kinds of incidents in the future. After signing the treaty, there was always a kind of understanding between both these countries, which they would try to continue.
The Egyptian Minister did share his grief and condolence for Israeli soldiers.
