The consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a historic and holy event for millions of Hindus, will be live-streamed on January 22 from New York City's renowned Times Square. The event will be telecast at many Indian embassies and consulates worldwide in addition to thousands of temples and booths around India.
The consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla (the infant Lord Ram) will be attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who conducted the temple's Bhoomi Pujan (ground-breaking ceremony) on August 5, 2020. Modi will also speak to the followers in India and beyond. It is reported that he is keeping a careful eye on the ceremony's preparations and adhering to all religious customs and guidelines.

The grand opening of Ayodhya Ram Mandir
The consecration ceremony, also known as Pran-Pratishtha, is the ritual of bringing the deity's idol to life. This will be carried out by Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a high priest from Varanasi, who will pray to Lord Ram and recite Vedic mantras. A week-long celebration known as Amrit Mahautsav will conclude with the ceremony. On January 16, there will be a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya, during which thousands of devotees will be fed, along with several Vedic ceremonies.
When & where to watch
On January 22, Prime Minister Modi will unveil the new statue's eye cover. However, the exact timing of the live stream has not yet been confirmed.
For the Hindu community, the dedication of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a significant event since it represents the accomplishment of a long-standing demand and a legal win. At the location of the 16th-century Babri Masjid, which Hindu militants destroyed in 1992 and set off sectarian violence, a temple is currently under construction. The Supreme Court of India decided in favor of Hindus in November 2019, opening the door for the temple's construction.
The world will see a spectacular live broadcast of the consecration event at Times Square in New York City, showcasing India's rich cultural and spiritual tradition. Lord Ram will once again be on exhibit at Times Square; in August 2020, a digital billboard featuring the Ram Temple was played there in honor of the Bhoomi Pujan.
