On September 16, the de facto ruler of Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan discussed his most recent diplomatic trip abroad with veteran president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni.
The Sudanese general was seen with Museveni at State House in Entebbe, Uganda, during what was reportedly a one-day working visit.
"They deliberated on bilateral and regional issues," said a brief statement from the Ugandan presidency.
Sudan has been at war since April when fighting broke out between Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Mr Burhan's former deputy turned rival, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
One resident claimed that the RSF was "firing heavy artillery" at the army headquarters as eyewitnesses on the ground reported hearing battles in central Khartoum.
Since late August, Mr. Burhan has made six trips abroad from his new base in the Red Sea port city of Port Sudan, in what analysts think is a diplomatic effort to bolster his credentials in the event of negotiations to end the crisis.
Egypt was his first visit before travelling on to South Sudan, Qatar, Eritrea, Turkey, and now Uganda.
The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project's conservative estimate states that since the conflict began on April 15, at least 7,500 people have died.
