Struggle for Free Flour in Pakistan still On

Videos highlighting the struggle of Pakistanis affected by the crisis for necessities are circulating on social media. The images depict numerous people waiting in line for a bag of flour. A woman even lost her life as a result of the massive rush to get the basic commodities, and two other people fainted.

According to Pakistan's local media, the long queue and lack of amenities at Punjab's free flour point caused a 50-year-old woman to pass away.

A Twitter user said while sharing the video, “Amidst unprecedented inflation and shortage of food items in countrymen and women are seen standing in a queue which is probably a mile long in one of government-subsidized wheat flour centers," a Twitter user said while sharing the video.

Consumers were informed about the Ramadan relief package, but the scenario only worsened the food crisis that was already present in some areas of cash-strapped Pakistan. The nation is presently experiencing its worst political and economic crises.
