On January 4, a tragic shooting happened at Perry High School in Iowa, leaving one student dead and five others injured.
Dylan Butler, a 17-year-old college student, at the end, shot himself, said Mitch Mortvedt, deputy director of the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigation Division.

The incident occurred when Dylan Butler posted a disturbing video on TikTok filmed in the school bathroom stall before the shooting. The video was posted with a chilling caption that read, "Now we wait," and showed a disturbing scene that would later unravel and warn of the tragedy to come.

The victims included five students, one of whom tragically lost his life as a sixth grader. Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger was reportedly injured.
The four other victims are in stable condition, but one remains in critical condition.

Dylan Butler was armed with a pump-action shotgun and a small-calibre handgun as authorities discovered "rudimentary" explosives in the schoolyard.

The incident happened before the school had started in turn reducing the number of students and faculty on the premise making it easier to respond quickly.
Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante assured the public that there was no further danger and that the police were conducting an investigation to understand the chain of events.
The Sheriff thanked the community for its support and asked for patience during this difficult time.
