Sadly, a hunting accident in Kansas over the weekend resulted in a dog shooting and killing a man in the US. Joseph Austin Smith, 30, was tragically injured when the animal walked on a revolver that was accidentally discharged while in the pickup truck's backseat, according to the police.
Given that 500 Americans died in gun accidents in the US in 2021, this tragedy serves as yet another reminder of the risks associated with gun ownership. Officials had not said if the man who was shot in the back by the dog was seated in the front passenger seat of the pickup truck when Smith was there.
