PM's France visit: Work visa, statue of Tamil philosopher, new consulate; here's all you need to know

PM Modi's visit to France has made some remarkable decisions which will strengthen the ties between both countries. At La Seine Musicale in Paris, PM Modi addressed the Indian Diaspora on 13 July. With a significant step of launching UPI in France, some other important decisions have been made there. 

PM Modi announced a 5-year post-study visa for Indian students. All those students who are studying or planning to study for their masters in France will get a 5 year-long post-study visa.

Another notable announcement was the opening of a new consulate. He is planning to open a consulate in Marseille, France. 

To honour India in France, PM Modi has planned to establish a statue of Indian saint Thiruvalluvar. He was the poet and philosopher traced in Indian history. The statue will be built in the Cergy prefecture. 

These are important announcements made by the Indian prime minister that will be of benefit to the Indian diaspora in France.
