North Korea fires short-range ballistic missile toward the western waters

South Korea’s military confirmed that North Korea fired a volley of short-range ballistic missiles toward waters off its western coast on 9th March. The South’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the missile was fired at 6:20 pm from an area near the western coastal city of Nampo. They do not have any idea of where the missile actually landed.

It was later confirmed that Kim and his daughter watched the missiles launch toward the western coast.

Previously, the US and South Korea have been preparing to hold joint military training to counter the threat of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. Kim Jong Un’s sister had warned both countries regarding this step. She said her government is ready to take "quick, overwhelming action" against the United States and South Korea.

The South Korean military has strengthened its surveillance of North Korean activities.
