New Zealand Earthquake - Kermadec Islands hit with 7.1 Magnitude

On Thursday morning, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred in the Kermadec Islands region, which is north of New Zealand.
The earthquake in the region struck at a depth of 10 kilometers. Coastal areas within 300 kilometers of the epicenter may see dangerous tsunami waves, the agency warns in a separate statement.
Australia's Department of Meteorology stated in a tweet that there is no tsunami threat to the country.
