Joyeeta Gupta, a scientist of Indian origin, has been recognized with the prestigious Spinoza Prize, often referred to as the 'Dutch Nobel Prize.' She is being honoured for her outstanding scientific contributions, which have significantly advanced the pursuit of a just and sustainable world. The University of Amsterdam has announced that Gupta, a Professor of Environment and Development in the Global South, will be granted a 1.5 million euro award to support her research and knowledge utilization endeavours.
