The ground forces were supported by air force and artillery strikes to ensure precision during the raids.
Reports from residents in Aita al-Shaab, a Lebanese border town, detailed heavy shelling, while helicopters and drones were heard overhead. Additionally, flares were deployed over Rmeish, illuminating the border area. These strikes indicate an escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, amidst growing regional tensions. The United Arab Emirates has expressed "deep concern" over the escalating conflict in Lebanon, emphasising its commitment to the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the country. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE called for international support to prevent further escalation and highlighted the need for full protection of civilians in accordance with international law.
Additionally, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced an urgent $100 million relief package to assist the people of Lebanon. The relief effort underscores the UAE's focus on humanitarian support amid the ongoing crisis.
America Continues to Fund the Israeli War Machine and Veto'ing UN
The U.S., which had initially expressed reservations about a ground invasion, now appears to be supporting this move. U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, in talks with Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, confirmed American backing for Israel's goal of dismantling Hezbollah's border infrastructure. Israel seems to be taking advantage of the current momentum to target specific objectives. There’s a sense that Israel wants to capitalise on the situation to achieve as much as possible, knowing it might not have a similar opportunity in the future.
This is on top of the already approved $8.7 Billion USD aid to Israel, while their states like North Carolina is getting devastated by storms and the American Citizen is crying themselves hoarse to get some kind of socialised medicine. But America keeps funding the war machine, like it always has. And it keeps veto'ing UN's cry for a cease fire. Joe Biden, the current President, who fell out of the next election due to his detoriating mental state, keeps sending more and more money to a nation which is under ICC investigation while Hurricane Helene is throwing out biblical proportions of flooding and damage to the state, the homeless epidemic is at its worst and it's debt to China is still unpaid.
