The ongoing terrific battle between Israel and Palestine reached the Lebanon border by Sunday morning as Hamas fired hundreds of rockets, escalating the conflict at unprecedented heights.
To show support to the Palestinian outfit, Hamas, the Iran-backed group of Hezbollah in Lebanon fired a substantial barrage of artillery shells and guided missiles towards disputed Israeli regions.
Hezbollah group claimed the responsibility for the 2,500 rockets which it fired into Israeli territory, standing in "solidarity with the Palestinian people".
Till now, the conflict was restricted to only Israel and Palestine but with this outrageous act of Hezbollah, Lebanon too has been included in it.
Hezbollah: The Militant Group
Founded in 1992 by Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah is a Shia Islamist political party and militant group, surviving in Lebanon and backed by Iran. Iran's support is fundamental to the radicalist ideology of Hezbollah since the tenants of this ideology has been developed by Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhillah Khomeini and it is with his aide and followers that this group has come to exist.
Amidst the retaliatory strikes by Israel, 313 Palestinians have lost their lives with around 2,000 people being wounded. Israel's top military spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari has also confirmed that Hamas militants have taken few Israeli soldiers and civilians as hostages, leading to the worst fears of Israel coming true.
Various international leaders such as UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunka, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, US President Biden and Germany have expressed their contempt for Hamas and has stood in solidarity with Israel. Given these, there are very little chances of the conflict getting faded in the coming days and the ongoing bloodshed may continue, taking lives of poor citizens.
