According to News.com.au, the disruptions at Sydney Airport today were probably caused by delays and cancellations on Christmas Eve due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. However, the airport confirmed that there were no operational issues today. According to Sky News, there were a total of 16 flight cancellations on Monday. This included seven flights from Virgin, six from Qantas, and three from Jetstar. Additionally, a few flights operated by small regional airlines were also affected.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, the New South Wales (NSW) State Emergency Service conducted 20 flood rescues in Sydney on Sunday. They also received reports of 30 homes being flooded in the southern suburb of Pagewood.
