On Friday morning, Delta Air Lines flight DAL209 from Edinburgh to New York-JFK was forced to make an emergency landing at Glasgow Prestwick Airport after a mechanical issue with the aircraft.

Passengers were left in tears during the emergency landing, and witnesses reported seeing flames billowing from the wing of the plane.

The crew reported engine problems to the passengers, who appeared more confused than panicked. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene to support airport fire crews, and passengers were evacuated from the aircraft.
