Facebook and Instagram block News access for Canadian users amid new legislation

A year after the legislation of paying news outlets, the governing body of Facebook and Instagram,” Meta '' has announced that they may end news access to users in Canada. This bill was passed by the Canadian Heritage Minister, Pablo Rodriguez, who has raised a question asking “If the government can't stand up for Canadians against tech giants, who will?" in a statement.

The Canadian President, Justin Trudeau sees this as a bullying tactic of the social media platforms. However, the exact date of this new policy in use has not yet been declared but it will eventually come into use in a matter of 6 months.
