The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) reported that a Pakistani boat with ten crew members and 40 kilograms of drugs worth 300 crore rupees was stopped in the early hours of Monday off the Gujarat coast.
On the basis of an anonymous tip, the activity was carried out on the evenings of December 25 and 26.Near the notional International Maritime Border Line (IMBL) with Pakistan, the ICG deployed its ship, the ICGS Arinjay, for the operation.
In Indian waters, the Pakistani fishing boat "Al Soheli" was observed moving in a suspicious manner in the early morning hours.
ICG stated that the boat began evasive maneuvering after being challenged by the ICG ship and continued to maneuver even after firing warning shots.
The boat was eventually stopped and intercepted by the Coast Guard. The boat contained nearly 40 kilograms of narcotics worth 300 crore rupees, according to the release.
According to the release, 44 Pakistani and seven Iranian crew members have been apprehended over the past 18 months, and a total of 346 kilograms of heroin worth 1,930 crore have been seized.
