Deadly Floods In Brazil - Landslides Kill Over 36

Authorities have confirmed that floods and landslides brought on by heavy rain along the coast of Brazil's Sao Paulo state resulted in the deaths of at least 19 people. According to the Xinhua news agency, Carnival festivities have been suspended in several coastal cities in Sao Paulo, Brazil's most populous state, which is currently bustling with tourists due to the celebrations this week.

The storm mainly impacted the Sao Sebastiao, Ubatuba, Bertioga, Guaruja, Ilhabela, and Santos districts.

Because of landslides and road damage, the local government of Sao Sebastiao declared a state of calamity because rescue teams were unable to reach the affected areas of the city.

Brazil is a country that is often affected by natural disasters such as floods and landslides, especially during the rainy season. These events can cause significant damage to infrastructure and communities, and often result in the loss of life and displacement of families.
