China Invents Remote Kiss Device so People Can Kiss Long Distance Partners

A "kissing device" devised by a Chinese university recently enables long-distance couples to enjoy a "real" kiss.

The device has ‘silicon lips’, pressure sensors, and actuators that can mimic a real kiss. It can replicate the partners’ temperature, pressure, and movement of one’s lips. All users need to do is download the app, plug the device in their mobile phone’s charging port and once they pair with their partner through the app, start the video call and it transmits the replica of kisses to each other.  The inspiration for this device came to inventor Jiang Zhongli when he was in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend and was only able to stay in touch by phone.

Naturally, some people were impressed with the invention, but a few others weren't. There were, however, some among them who couldn't help but be reminded of a particular moment from the American sitcom The Big Bang Theory. One of the episode's characters creates a "Kissing Machine" in a scene. Mentioning the very particular scene in which Howard Wolowitz, played by Simon Helberg, created a special contraption for his friend to share some special and intimate moments with his long-distance girlfriend living in another country. They also said that the show predicted it years back.

“China really went and created an actual Kissing Device for long-distance relationships just like one in The Big Bang Theory lmao,” wrote a Twitter user.
