California Storm Has Broken Records with its Snow this Year

On Saturday, a severe winter storm that had previously devastated the West Coast with flooding and subfreezing temperatures made its way to Southern California. In the Los Angeles region, close to 85,000 homes and businesses were without electricity.

For the past few days, a huge winter storm has wrought havoc in California, flooding some areas and knocking out power to roughly 85,000 homes and businesses in Los Angeles. Parts of California were still being battered by storms, which caused rivers to overflow to dangerous levels and dropped snow even in low-lying areas near Los Angeles. According to the AP, flash flooding early on Saturday morning was brought on by more than 7 inches of rain that poured in Ventura County.
