Binance US, the American arm of Binance, has been granted permission to acquire accounts from Voyager Digital, a crypto trading platform. The move comes despite a warning from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against Binance for operating without registration. However, the acquisition of Voyager accounts is expected to help Binance US expand its user base and compete with other US-based exchanges.
The SEC has been cracking down on cryptocurrency exchanges operating without proper registration in the US. Binance has been under scrutiny by the agency and has faced restrictions in several states. Nevertheless, the acquisition of Voyager accounts marks a significant step forward for Binance US in its efforts to establish a foothold in the American market.
