India and US joined hands to develop a deeper and wide bilateral Drug Policy Framework on 20.07.2023, Thursday. Dr Rahul Gupta director of National Drug Control Policy has mentioned that they have been working on cementing anti-narcotics policies and scrutinizing the network of traffickers. The US-India Counter Narcotics Working Group play a major role in this Framework.
The second one is to work on drug demand reduction and harm reduction. That includes looking at not only how we help people who are suffering from addiction but prevent addiction in the first place, and at the same time working on things like workforce shortages," said Dr Gupt mentioned
This 2 day meeting will be a foundation to create a harmless and drug-free society in the future in India and the United States.
