Another Indian Navy Rescue -19 Pak Sailors freed from Pirates In Arabian Sea

Pirates off the coast of Somalia took 19 Pakistani sailors hostage. The Indian warship, INS Sumitra, was able to free them. With this action, the warship had already been on its second anti-piracy mission in 36 hours. The pirates took over the fishing boat FV Al Naeemi, which had an Iranian flag, and were holding the Pakistani crew hostage. The prisoners were freed, though, thanks to how quickly the Indian Navy responded.

In its statement, the Navy said that INS Sumitra sank the fishing boat on January 29 and used force, along with planes and boats, to make sure that the crew and the boat could be freed safely. Navy troops also got on the ship to make sure the crew was okay.

INS Sumitra had already done a successful mission when it reacted to an SOS call from FV Iman, another hijacked fishing boat flying the Iranian flag. At that time, the Navy saved 17 Iranian ship members. In its official statement, the Navy stressed that these back-to-back rescues stopped the fishing boats from being used as "mother ships" to attack other commercial ships again.

The Indian Navy's INS Sumitra is an in-house security ship that works in the ocean. It has been sent to the east of Somalia and the Gulf of Aden to fight pirates and keep the seas safe. The guided missile destroyer INS Visakhapatnam, which is part of the Navy, was also very important in recent maritime activities. On Saturday night, a missile struck a trading ship in the Gulf of Aden, sparking a massive fire that it assisted in putting out.
