6.5 magnitude earthquake hits Northern Philippines

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck the Northern Philippines on Thursday, June 15th at about 7:30 am IST  (2 am GMT).

The earthquake hit the Luzon Island in the Mindoro province. Tremors were also said to have been felt in the capital Manila and nearby areas. Although no loss of life or casualties has been reported.

According to the German Research Center for Geosciences, the earthquake was about 10km deep.
