Scaling yet another peak in his ambitious journey, Kerala government employee Shaikh Hassan Khan has now climbed Ojos del Salado, the world's highest volcano, more than 22,600 feet high.
Spreads 'Climate Change' message in a different way
The 36-year-old Khan has climbed the seventh-highest peak. Khan is from Pathanamthitta's Pandalam and works in the secretariat's finance department. Khan told PTI that by summiting the world's highest volcano on Saturday, he hoped to spread the message of climate change uniquely. "I wrote the slogan Climate Change is Real on my chest and showcased it at the top of Ojos del Salado," he said
According to him, the highest volcano in the world is Ojos del Salado, which stands at 22,615 feet. He summited South America's highest peak, Mount Aconcagua, earlier this month. Before that, Khan climbed Mount Vinson, Antarctica's highest peak, in December.
Mr Khan suffered frostbite on both hands due to the minus 40 degrees Celsius temperature at Union Glacier Camp in Antarctica.
He has also climbed four other highest peaks: Mount Everest (Asia), Denali (North America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), and Elbrus (Europe).
According to reports, Mr Khan, who is currently on leave from his government job, plans the trips with the help of his close friends.
