Furthermore, MeitY requests major social media platforms with a membership exceeding five million to provide a plan within 10 days outlining their strategies to tackle the spread of misinformation and inappropriate content.
In response to a previous notice from the IT Ministry concerning the removal of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), YouTube has reiterated its commitment to a "zero-tolerance policy" regarding this type of content. A spokesperson has highlighted the significant investments made by YouTube in advanced technology and dedicated teams to promptly address and remove any content that poses a risk.
Telegram, a secure messaging platform, has responded to the notice from the IT Ministry in a respectful manner. They have expressed their strong dedication to adhering to both legal and ethical standards, especially when it comes to sensitive subjects such as Child Pornography (CP), CSAM, and Rape and Gang Rape (RGR) content on the Indian internet. Telegram has implemented a stringent "zero-tolerance policy" to prevent any illegal activities from taking place on their platform.
