Vygr Goa: Fee increased by Margao Municipal Corporation, excluding house tax

Margao Municipal Council, in response to citizen demands, remitted the proposed steep duty and figure hike during an ordinary meeting held on Friday. Still, the council resolved to increase nominal freight for certain public services. The meeting, which ran for 6 and 1/2 hours from 10:30 am, also addressed enterprises regarding the government’s decision to scrap vehicles aged more than 15 times and decided to approach the Supreme Court regarding exchanges with BS4 machines. Various judgments were passed about the Sonsoddo dump yard, including the hiring of further labourers.
They also demanded to revise the figure structure as there wasn't any new element in it. Still, during the meeting, the council remitted the docket to increase freights related to demesne on rent, businesses without trade licenses, transfer of marketable demesne, minimal house duty monthly charges, NOC conditions for excise and water/ electricity connections, sopo figure, billboards, authorization for temporary pandals, and executive charges for residency instruments. The council have decided to increase the amount for some services.
Speaker Damodar Shirodkar expressed his reservations about adding freight without completely studying the matter. Still, the council did authorize figure hikes for Municipal Hall bookings( Rs. 500 toRs. 1,000), issuing character instruments( Rs. 50 toRs. 100), income instruments( Rs. 50 toRs. 100), and occupancy instruments for Portuguese passports(Rs. 500).
The speaker informed the council that the communal body had made sweats to resolve the BS4 truck issue but was unprofitable, leaving the legal route as their only remaining option. Councillor Sadanand Naik suggested that rather than scrapping vehicles, the government should address factors contributing to pollution, similar to the quality of diesel and petrol, as well as machine conditions. They also passed a resolution opposing the government's decision.
Chairperson advised the staff against draining citizens and designedly delaying train processing. There was discussion held about the shops on footpath. but there was no decision taken on the hike over house tax.
