A minor fire broke out in a temporary shed near the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple located atop Trikuta Hills in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The fire was reported around 1 km away from the temple. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and no casualties have been reported till now.
Firefighters were dispatched immediately, and within an hour the fire was brought under control. The area had been cordoned off and an investigation has been launched to find the cause of the fire.
The Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the most revered Hindu shrines located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Vaishno Devi, who is considered a manifestation of the goddess Durga. The temple is located in the Trikuta Mountains, at an altitude of 5,300 feet above sea level.
The temple is accessible by a 13-kilometre-long footpath, which is usually completed as a pilgrimage by devotees. The Vaishno Devi Temple is visited by millions of devotees every year, making it one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India.
The temple is maintained by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, which oversees the infrastructure and development of the temple complex and the surrounding area.
