Reliance to launch India's first Pret a manger store

A popular UK-based coffee chain Pret a Manger launched its first store in Mumbai on Friday. Pret was planning to partner with reliance industries owned by India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani. Prets chief executive has said that it will continue to reflect the company’s brand and also adapt to the local tastes of Indians to penetrate the Indian market better.

Its staple menu was offered, but exclusive new additions such as the Bombay toastie and the spicy paneer and lima bean soup came along with it. Pret a manger which means ready to eat in French started operating in the UK beginning in London in 1983 and currently has 400 outlets around the world.
