On Friday, a tornado struck Bakainwala village in Punjab's Fazilka district, causing significant damage to more than 50 homes and injuring over six people.
Villagers reported that the tornado appeared suddenly in the sky at approximately 4 pm, wreaking havoc in the area. A video of the event circulated widely on social media, displaying strong winds resulting from the tornado circulating around several villages.
Crops in the village were damaged, and several houses' roofs were blown away due to the tornado's impact. As per an Indian Express report, the tornado traveled across to the Pakistani side and was visible from several villages.
The weather department has predicted cloudy weather and light to heavy rainfall in the region over the weekend. Punjab experienced significant rainfall on Thursday and Friday.
