PM Modi Varanasi visit, laid foundation stone for 28 development projects worth more than Rs. 1780 Cr

On World Tuberculosis Day, the Prime Minister addressed the One World TB Summit. This summit is coordinated by the Ministry of Welfare and Family Management (MoHFW) and Stop TB. PM Modi visited Varanasi today to lay the foundation stone  of several projects worth over Rs 1780 crore. Prime Minister Modi addressed the One World TB Summit at the Rudrakash Convention Hall. He concluded the day by inaugurating several projects worth over Rs. 1,780 crore in Sampurnan and Sanskrit University Campus.

 He also spoke at the One World TB Summit organized by  Stop TB Partnership and  Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on World TB Day. In addition, PM Modi distributed awards to  selected districts and states/UTs for their progress in TB eradication. At the event, Modi also announced the TB-Mukt Panchayat initiative, a formal launch of a shorter TB preventive treatment and family-centred care model across India, and the publication of India's Annual TB Report 2023. During the progamme, UP Governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath were also present.

  • At the One World TB Summit in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed awards to  selected states, UTs and districts for their progress in TB eradication.
  • PM Modi joined the Saansad Khel competition champion in Varanasi. PM Modi laid the foundation stone and unveiled 28 improvement projects worth over ₹ 1,780 crore in the Varanasi parliamentary constituency.
  • In his Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, Modi laid the foundation  for a $645 million passenger cable car. The 3.75 kilometer cable car system has five stations and facilitates the movement of residents, pilgrims and tourists.
  • Under the Namami Gange initiative, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for a 55 MLD (million liters per day) sewage treatment plant at Bhagwanpur.
  • The construction of the project is estimated to cost 300 million rupees.  Modi laid the foundation for phase 2 and phase 3 renovation projects of the Sigra Stadium as part of the Khelo India plan.
