The entire Mumbai and Konkan regions of Maharashtra has been warned about the heatwave. Sudden temperature rise has been observed in all the coastal districts: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg etc. The Santacruz observatory of the Indian Meteorological Department recorded a 36.9 degrees temperature yesterday, 3 degrees more than what it had recovered 24 hours ago. Thane Belapur Observatory recorded 39.9 degrees temperature. Almost more than 10 districts in Maharashtra have temperatures of about 40 degrees, which is a serious topic.
An IMD scientist said, "anti cyclone circulation led to this particular weather condition. Temperatures will come down within the next 2/3 days when the cyclone will shift towards the north." Thus, the IMD has given a Heatwave warning to Mumbai and nearby regions.
People must take care of themselves and should avoid going out unless and until there's an emergency.
