Documents have been obtained indicating that Vasudha Rohatgi, the spouse of Mukul Rohatgi, the former Attorney General of India, has acquired a bungalow spanning 2,100 square yards in Delhi's affluent Golf Links neighborhood for Rs 160 crore. The property registration was completed on February 23, with the family remitting Rs 6.4 crore for the stamp duty. Golf Links is a popular area among high net worth individuals (HNIs), and property prices have remained stable due to limited availability.
When contacted for comment, Mukul Rohatgi chose not to provide a statement regarding the acquisition. Other notable figures who have recently bought properties in posh Delhi areas include former Solicitor General of India Gopal Subramanium and Rategain founder Bhanu Chopra. Luxury real estate consultant Pradeep Prajapati notes that high-value properties continue to be in demand despite inflation or economic slowdown, and the demand-supply gap will likely continue to drive prices up.
Earlier, a 575-square-yard bungalow in Golf Links was purchased by Shailesh Arora, the director of Maxop Engineering, for Rs 68.5 crore, and Pawan Agarwal, the deputy managing director of DB Group (Dainik Bhaskar), acquired a similar-sized property in the same vicinity for Rs 75 crore.
