Manipur update: Protests planned by AMA, on point of PM Modi's visit to the US

The American Meitei Association, which is a group of members including the non-resident Indians of the Manipur Meitei community in America are planning to hold a silent protest, near the White House, in Washington. This protest has been planned, on the point of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the US around the corner.

The exact location of the protest is said to be Lafayette Park near the White House. A statement was put out recently by the American Meitei Association, regarding their support and encouragement, to the concerned individuals who are protesting in solidarity for their basic rights. This peace protest is seen as a form of offering a helping hand although being in different parts of the World.

They have also expressed their patriotism, in a way of showcasing that distance does not matter, unless we are truly having the thought to stand for the grassroots. They spoke about their community struggling and shedding blood and cannot be in silence seeing all of this violence in Manipur, which has been going on for a while now.

However, PM Modi’s visit could bring out some negotiation and answers for hope to the American Meitei Association.
