What is Monkey Fever?
Monkey fever is also known as Kyasanur forest disease, and in short form it stands for KFD. So the main concern arises Is this virus deadly enough for humans? And how much can this affect the human species? Well, the answers to these questions are already confirmed by the doctors. This is a deadly virus, and it can lead to the death of humans. There are still no signs of proper treatment or anything that can lead to the cure of humans having or suffering from this disease. Monkey fever is caused by the virus named Kyansanur Forest disease, and it is from the flavivirus family.
How does a human get this infection transferred to them? And what are the symptoms?
The virus is a tick-borne disease that targets monkeys. When the ticks bite the monkeys, they get infected. Now how does this affect the humans? The ticks living on the bodies of the monkeys bite humans. In this way, humans can get affected, and coming in contact with the dead monkeys or the infected one also leads to the transmission of this fever to the human beings.
The symptoms of this deadly fever include vomiting, feeling nauseous, frontal headache, high fever, myalgia, diarrhoea, and cough. The other triggering symptoms are neck stiffness, coma, giddiness, coarse tremors, convulsions, nose bleeding, haemoptysis, or haematemesis, which basically leads to death.
So far, the KFD vaccines have been provided, and it has also been stated to stay away from monkeys, and usage of DMP oil has been encouraged.
