Columnist Tarek Fatah Passes Away

Newspaper columnist Tarek Fatah, a Pakistani-Canadian, died on Monday after a protracted battle with cancer, according to his daughter Natasha Fatah, who is also a journalist.

Fatah was a prominent reporter, columnist, and radio and television commentator who was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and immigrated to Canada in 1987.

Nothing frightened Tarek Fatah, a political activist, human rights crusader, and outspoken critic of all forms of religious fanaticism who passed away at the age of 73.

Tarek, a secular Muslim, has written two books: Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State, and The Jew is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Semitism.

"Lion of Punjab. Son of Hindustan. Lover of Canada. Speaker of truth. Fighter for justice. Voice of the downtrodden, underdogs, and the oppressed. Tarek Fatah has passed the baton on... his revolution will continue with all who knew and loved him. Will you join us? 1949-2023," Natasha tweeted.
