India's capital has plans for 250 "pink parks." Men will not be permitted to enter these parks, which will only be accessible to women. According to Delhi Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, the search for locations where women-only "pink parks" will be established in each MCD ward has begun. Iqbal stated, "Recently, in a social gathering with CM Arvind Kejriwal, I pointed to the instance of a "pink park" in my ward (Chandni Mahal) in Old Delhi and recommended that similar stops can be established in other wards." The goal is to create a "more agreeable space" for women in the city in addition to ensuring that they receive other conveniences. The Metropolitan Company of Delhi (MCD) oversees 250 wards. Iqbal, a councilor for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), stated that as part of a pilot project, a "pink park" has been established on Mata Sundari Street. In these parks, women can be joined by children as young as 10 years old. Other ward officials will use the same model. The deputy mayor of the national capital states that council members from each ward will select one park to become a pink park.
