In Goa, a resort staff was detained after allegedly harassing and stabbing a Dutch tourist. The resort's name is unknown, but according to the news agency ANI, it is situated in Pernem town in North Goa.
Abhishek Verma is the named suspect who was taken into custody. Verma was a bartender-tender at the hotel in the Pernem area and is a native of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The woman said in her complaint that a stranger, between the age of 25 and 30, broke into her rented tent on the hotel grounds. The accused attempted to grab her and threatened her while she shouted. The intruder fled when a local man stepped in to save her. Then he came back and attacked her as well as the other man with a knife.
According to Valsan, "A resort staffer trespassed into the rented tent of the complainant, when she started to scream for help, one local person came to rescue her from the accused and seeing his presence, accused ran away after that accused person returned back with the knife and assaulted local person with a knife who had come to rescue and further assaulted the complainant with a knife and fled away from the spot."
The tourist and the local person were shifted to the hospital for treatment SP said.
