6 Booked in Fake Currency Printing, Paper Sourced from China

Pune: In a significant breakthrough, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police thwarted an illicit operation involving the printing of counterfeit currency notes in Pune. The operation led to the apprehension of six individuals from the site. During the operation, authorities seized counterfeit notes valued at Rs. 70,000 from the perpetrators. The paper used for the counterfeit currency sourced from a Chinese company's e-commerce platform.

According to sources familiar with the development, an aged offset machine was clandestinely transported from Appa Balwant Chowk to Magazine Chowk in Dighi, where the production of fake currency took place. The group's activities came to light when law enforcement authorities conducted a raid at Mukai Chowk in Kiwale on Sunday (February 25), sources told Vygr News.
