Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the Diwali festivities on Sunday by participating in the eagerly awaited and well-prepared for Deepotsav 2022 in Ayodhya.
A spectacular laser show with colourful lights added glory to the "Deepotsav" celebrations held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday ahead of Diwali. The crowd was stunned by a video of multicoloured laser lights blazing over the night sky. The Department of Tourism and Culture is working with the District Administration to put on the Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya. Under the auspices of 'Disha: India-Russia Friendship Society of Moscow', the Padma Shri Gennady Mikhailovich Pechnikov Memorial Ramlila will be held too.
This Diwali, Ayodhya is decked out with "Ramayana gates" and tableaux to recreate the atmosphere of the Ramayana period that mirrors the feel of the "Tretayuga". Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend Deepotsav celebrations in the sacred city on 23rd October. This will be his first time attending the event in Ayodhya. In order to guide people down the historical pathways during the festival of lights, the city has been decorated with hoardings and banners from the Ramayana era.
“As Diwali is approaching, the preparations have also been intensified. From Ayodhya Highway to Nayaghat, 30 different kinds of welcome gates with different names are being prepared for Deepotsav,” an official statement reported.
These gates are named after the mythological characters associated with Lord Ram including Sita Dwar, Shabari Dwar, Jatayu Dwar, and Hanuman Dwar. “Selfie point has been made near the statutes of Lord Ram, Sita, Shatrughan, and Hanuman on Ram Ki Paidi,” the statement added. Graphics showing Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya from Lanka by Pushpak Vimana have also been created to educate the younger generation.
PM Modi will undertake the first Diya lighting during his visit, as well as Bhagwan Shree Ramlala Virajman's darshan and pooja at around 5 PM on 23rd October. Additionally, he will examine the status of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. "At around 5:45 PM, he will perform the Rajyabhishek of symbolic Bhagwan Shri Ram. Around 6:30 PM, Prime Minister will witness Aarti at New Ghat, Saryu River, which will be followed by the commencement of the grand Deepotsav celebrations by the Prime Minister," said a statement by PMO.
More than 18 Lakh diyas will be lit during this Deepotsav, which is in its sixth year. 11 Ramleela tableaus featuring distinct dancing styles from various states will be displayed along with 5 animated tableaus. Over 15 lakh earthen lamps will be lit by more than 22,000 volunteers at Ram ki Paidi near the Saryu bank. The rest will be placed at important intersections and spots.
