Mylab Discovery Solutions announced that it has expanded its portfolio of rapid tests for sexually transmitted diseases (STIs), namely HIV, HCV, and Syphilis.
Among these tests, HIV 1/2 Ab and HCV Ab are rapid tests for the detection of antibodies specific to HIV-1 and HIV-2 and HCV respectively, while the Syphilis Antibody test detects antibodies (IgG, IgA, IgM) to Treponema Pallidum (TP) to aid in the diagnosis of Syphilis.
Rapid testing for STIs is an important tool in the fight against the spread of these infections, as early detection and treatment can help prevent further transmission and the development of long-term health problems. However, it's important to note that these tests should not be used as a replacement for regular sexual health check-ups and screenings with a healthcare provider.
