According to reports from the Union health ministry, India saw an increase of 3,095 new coronavirus cases on Friday, pushing the active caseload over the 15,000 mark. The total number of patients who have recovered from the illness has increased to 4,41,69,711, and the case mortality rate is now 1.19 percent.
This comes after the country saw an increase of 3,016 new coronavirus cases in a single day, the greatest number in almost six months. On 2 Oct 2022, there were a total of 3,375 cases.
The Country’s Covid-19 recovery rate has been reported at 98.78%, while currently active cases make up 0.03 percent of overall infections. According to details from the government, 1,18,694 tests were performed in the previous 24 hours.
The ministry reported that 220.65 crore vaccine doses—of which 95.20 cr. are second doses and 22.86 cr. are precautionary doses—have already been given as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign. In the past 24 hours, 6,553 doses of the Covid vaccine have been given.
