Youtube has updated its policy that will allow premium users to play videos at 2x speed. This feature will allow the video to be played while hovering over the payback option. By which the experiment page will be set at the required speed. Hence the users simply need to long press the screen and wait until there's a pop-up indicating that the video will play at 2x speed.
This is seen as a great upgrade for IOS and Android users, as at the moment it is a tedious 4 step process to change the playback speed. This will be helpful when people are trying to skim over the videos, instead of completely going through the entire video.
These features are available to preview and test until August 13 2023.
