Aditya Roy Kapur plays the titular role in the Indian adaptation of John Le Carre's spy thriller "The Night Manager". Aditya plays the role of Shaan, a character that goes through various trials and tribulations. Aditya's co-stars in the show are Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl. The drama series will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 17.
The original Night Manager was a riveting and immersive adaptation of John Le Carre's novel with Tom Hiddleston in the titular role. The storytelling was brisk, and while the production felt thoroughly old-fashioned, it was thematically dense.
Tom Hiddleston is a perfect Jonathan Pine, polite, calm, charming, confident but self-deprecating, a little mysterious, and very English, and the high-powered cast is top-notch. The miniseries features gripping suspense, emotion, intrigue, thrills, crosses and double-crosses. Hugh Laurie is habitually charming as the arms dealer, but his performance is undercut with a persuasive menace that belies his interactions with the other characters. The series was cleverly paced, and Susanne Bier's adaptation of John le Carré's 1993 novel is fresh, engaging and shines in the blinding sun.
Let's hope this one does the same.
